Compliance

Hypnotherapist Hub operates in line with UK law and the regulatory expectations relevant to a professional membership, training and supervision service. This page sets out the key areas of compliance for both the site itself and for our members.

1. Data Protection (UK GDPR)

We process member and client-related data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. This means:

  • We collect only the personal data needed to run memberships, deliver events, and provide support.
  • Data is stored securely and is not sold to third parties.
  • Members can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting us via our Contact page.
  • Full detail on what we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy [link to be added].

2. Professional Body and Accreditation Compliance

Hypnotherapist Hub is a supervision, CPD and support service — it does not itself regulate the practice of hypnotherapy. We require members to:

  • Hold membership of, and comply with, the code of ethics of their own recognised professional body or accrediting organisation.
  • Maintain appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance for the hypnotherapy work they carry out.
  • Keep any required registrations, certifications, or CPD hours current as set by their own professional body.

Our supervision and CPD content is designed to complement, not replace, these external professional and regulatory requirements.

3. Advertising and Marketing Standards

Content on this site, and guidance we give to members, follows the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) CAP Code principles for the advertising of hypnotherapy and psychological therapies, including:

  • Not making claims that hypnotherapy can cure or treat medical or psychiatric conditions.
  • Ensuring testimonials and reviews are genuine and not misleading.
  • Clearly labelling sponsored content, in line with our Transparency page.

4. Safeguarding

Where concerns arise about client welfare, safeguarding of children or vulnerable adults, or risk of serious harm, we expect members to follow the safeguarding procedures of their own professional body and, where appropriate, to involve the relevant statutory authorities (such as social services, the police, or emergency services) without delay. Hypnotherapist Hub is not a crisis or emergency service.

5. Consumer Rights and Membership Terms

Membership fees, cancellation terms, and refund arrangements (including the first free month) are set out clearly at the point of sign-up, in line with UK consumer protection law. Members can cancel their membership at any time via their account or by contacting us.

6. Website Accessibility and Cookies

We aim to make this website usable and accessible to all visitors. The site uses cookies for functionality and analytics purposes; details of cookie use are available via our cookie notice [link to be added]. If you experience accessibility barriers using this site, please let us know via our Contact page so we can address them.

7. Reviewing This Page

We review our compliance practices periodically to reflect changes in law, regulation, and best practice for organisations supporting complementary and psychological therapy professionals. This page will be updated to reflect any material changes.
